About Tess Moss
Tess Moss is a fascia and alignment specialist, structural bodyworker, detox coach, author, and personal trainer with more than 25 years experience in the health and fitness industry.
Since 2008, Tess has specialised in SLM Bodywork (Steve Lockhart Myotherapy), an advanced form of structural bodywork focused on fascia, alignment, movement patterns, chronic tension, and whole-body balance.
Her work is based on the understanding that the body functions as one interconnected system, and that long-term pain and dysfunction are often driven by deeper compensation patterns throughout the body rather than isolated symptoms alone.
Tess takes a whole-body approach to treatment, combining structural bodywork with movement awareness, posture, lifestyle factors, nervous system stress, and nutrition where appropriate.
A personal journey into structural healing
Before moving into bodywork professionally, Tess worked as a personal trainer while also training heavily herself in running, weight training, and group fitness.
Years of intense physical stress eventually led to chronic injuries, pain, and structural breakdown throughout her own body. Despite trying many forms of treatment including physiotherapy, chiropractic care, remedial massage, and podiatry, she struggled to find lasting improvement.
Discovering SLM Bodywork became a turning point.
For the first time, Tess experienced a treatment approach that focused on deeper structural patterns throughout the entire body rather than only chasing symptoms temporarily.
After experiencing major improvements in her own body, she completed formal SLM Bodywork training and founded Body Mechanix Myotherapy in 2008.
That experience later became part of the inspiration behind The Yield Method™ — Tess’s fascia release and movement restoration system designed to help people work more deeply and consistently on their own body between treatments.
Beyond bodywork
Over the years, Tess also developed a strong interest in the relationship between nutrition, detoxification, nervous system health, inflammation, and chronic illness.
After personally overcoming health challenges including Hashimoto’s, PTSD, insomnia, and adrenal fatigue, she spent years researching healing, nutrition, detoxification, and mind-body health.
This experience eventually led her to expand into detox and nutritional coaching, where she now helps clients support their health through whole-food nutrition, lifestyle changes, nervous system support, and mind-body healing principles.
